Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen officials spoke this evening about the re-entry process for evacuees displaced by the Bald Range fire.

Emergency operations centre directors said there has to be a number of things that have to be in place for a staged re-entry of residents to occur in the area — including debris being cleared and utilities being restored.

But they emphasized that such a re-entry would only happen when the B.C. Wildfire Service says it is safe to do so, and it would happen on an area-by-area basis.
