Re “Turning off the noise” (Warren Kinsella, Sept.
6): When one kid yells: “Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah,” another kid echoes the phrase.
They may tire of the game.
Or it escalates to brandishing sticks or tossing stones.
Adults know the risk.
We don’t retaliate.
Donald Trump’s tariffs harm the American people.
Trump uses the tariffs as negotiating leverage.
He taunts us to respond because he knows we will lose.
He also uses tariffs to repatriate business stateside.
That results in a higher cost of goods for American consumers.
An adult is not fooled by adolescent behaviour.
