Calgary police seeking suspect in late-night assault near downtown

Calgary Herald ·

Calgary police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in an assault just south of downtown Friday night.

Police responded to an incident at Spanky’s Saloon in the Beltline at about 11:40 p.m. Friday, where they said they found three injured men, one of whom appeared to have been stabbed. The men were all taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe all three were assaulted by the same person, and have identified Devontae Traverse, 22, as a suspect. He is wanted on a warrant for three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of breaches of a court order, police said. They described him as “about 5’10” with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes.”
