Islanders hold fan vote for 2027-28 third jerseys

The New York Islanders are putting their new sweater designs in the hands of the fans.

The team is holding fan votes to choose their third jersey to be worn throughout the 2027-28 season, with the options now down to the final four.

The designs were initially narrowed down by a committee after more than 80,000 submissions from Islanders fans earlier in the summer.

The vote is taking place bracket-style, where fans choose between two options. The jersey with the highest amount of votes then moves on to the next round, where the process repeats.

The first round featured eight jerseys with voting open from Aug. 12-14. The second round features four designs and voting will run this weekend, closing on Monday.

Islanders fans will not get to see their team don the new digs right away, however, as the team will play a second consecutive season without a designated third jersey.
