Maple Leafs’ William Nylander in lineup vs. Sharks
The Toronto Maple Leafs ' hot-handed winger will be available for Monday night's showdown against the San Jose Sharks (Sportsnet+, 7:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 p.m. PT) after previously being deemed a game-time decision due to an illness.
Nylander missed the team's morning skate on Monday, with head coach Jim Hiller confirming that his status would be determined closer to game time. He took part in the team's warm-up before puck drop.
The winger had been slated to skate on the top line alongside Auston Matthews and Jack Roslovic, but Bo Groulx skated as a placeholder for Nylander at Monday's practice.
Before going two games without a point heading into Monday's clash, Nylander had been on a hot streak to start the season, tallying five goals and seven assists in the team's first seven games.
The Maple Leafs are in the midst of a three-game skid, losing to the Utah Mammoth, Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders, and have dropped to last place in the Atlantic.
