Man, 25, facing assault charges after bagpiper injured on Wellington Street
A 25-year-old man is facing several charges, including assault with a weapon, after a bagpiper was injured in an altercation Saturday on Wellington Street.
The victim was playing the bagpipes on a Wellington sidewalk near Sussex Drive just after 4 p.m. on May 15 when a man, without being provoked, assaulted him with an edged weapon, the Ottawa Police Service said in a news release on May 17.
According to police, the suspect left the scene but was quickly found and arrested.

The victim suffered minor injuries to a hand and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
In addition to the assault with a weapon charge, Jean Dorestant has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, possession of a dangerous weapon, obstruct/resist arrest and two counts of breaching probation.
