Raptors sign guard Malachi Smith ahead of training camp
The Toronto Raptors are filling out their roster ahead of training camp.
They signed Malachi Smith to an undisclosed contract on Monday, the team announced.
The 26-year-old averaged 8.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists over 15 games with the Brooklyn Nets last season, shooting 43.5 per cent from three-point range.
Smith was signed to consecutive 10-day contracts with the Nets before signing a two-year non-guaranteed standard NBA deal on April 4 to play out the final week of the season.
The undrafted guard had a season-best 19 points to go along with 10 assists and eight rebounds against the Milwaukee Bucks on April 10.
Smith split two G League seasons between the Rip City Remix, Wisconsin Herd and Memphis Hustle between 2023-25, and could be a candidate to join the Raptors affiliate, the Raptors 905, if he doesn't make the NBA team out of camp.
The Raptors will conduct training camp in Quebec City ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, with media day on Sept. 28, before camp begins the following day and runs through Oct. 2.
