Zelenskyy says willing to accept deal retaining 75% of territory
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News on Wednesday that he would agree to a peace deal with Russia if Ukraine retained at least 75% of its territory.
Asked whether he would accept a peace deal that would freeze the status quo, under which Ukraine would retain 75% or more of its territory, Zelenskyy replied: "Yes.
Right now, we need to freeze the situation, and I think that's the real path to ending this war.
We call it a ceasefire." Zelenskyy also said he hoped for a positive outcome from US envoy Steve Witkoff's meeting in Russia on Wednesday and he supported talks between the leaders of Kyiv, Washington and Moscow.
He said his talks with Witkoff in Oslo on Tuesday had been productive and that Ukraine was ready for diplomacy. (With input from Reuters)
