A 12-episode AIGC comic drama turns the Yellow Sea mudflats of Yancheng into a wetland fairy tale for young viewers around the world.

On the tidal flats of Tiaozini, in the coastal city of Yancheng in east China's Jiangsu Province, the sea breathes in and out twice a day, unveiling one of the most important stopover sites on the East Asian–Australasian Flyway.

It is a landscape that can feel alien even to those who live beside it – a vast, glistening expanse of mud, shallow water and reed marsh where millions of migratory birds pause to feed and rest.

Now, that landscape has become the setting of a fairy tale.

Mudflat Haven (《滩涂秘境》), a 12-episode comic drama series, transforms the vast and mysterious Yellow Sea mudflats into a wetland popular-science fairy tale designed for teenagers both in China and abroad.

A small bird's first big journey The story follows Spofie, a spoon-billed sandpiper – one of the world's most endangered birds – on her first solo migration.

After a long, weary flight, she finally catches sight of the mudflats of Tiaozini.

Will this strange coastal wetland welcome a tiny traveler from afar? Newly arrived, Spofie treads carefully.

On the flats, the tide rises and falls in the blink of an eye; finding food and dodging danger is her first lesson in wetland survival.

Then a surging tide throws her into an accidental encounter with the local residents.

After a nervous first meeting, barriers slowly melt away – and on the mudflat, the seeds of friendship quietly begin to sprout.
