Iranian director Hossein Khalifi sees the ongoing Silk Road International Film Festival as more than a showcase for films, but as a platform for filmmakers from around the world to meet and exchange ideas.

In this interview with CGTN, he discusses how the festival can help Chinese and Iranian people better understand each other's film cultures.

He also shares his hope to explore more stories for future China-Iran co-productions.
