Africa Watch: AFCON 2025 — Who’s the Champion?

Nine months after Senegal beat Morocco 1-0 in the AFCON 2025 final, the title remains disputed.

The controversy over Senegal’s brief walk-off after a late penalty saw CAF overturn the result and award Morocco a 3-0 win.

Senegal appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), where both sides will present their case on October 8.

A ruling is expected later, leaving the AFCON 2025 title and the identity of the defending champions still unresolved.

In this episode of Africa Watch, Mohamed Abubakar tells us more about the dispute and what is at stake.
