Hong Kong’s MPF has gained nearly HK$100b this year despite September loss: report

Hong Kong’s Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) recorded a loss in September but still made overall gains of nearly HK$100 billion (US$12.8 billion) over the first nine months of the year, according to data from MPF Ratings released on Wednesday.

The 382 investment funds under the MPF schemes delivered a 6.2 per cent average return in the first nine months, despite losing 1.47 per cent in September, the consultancy found.

In monetary terms, they earned HK$96.9 billion over the first three quarters...
