US vlogger says China helped avert global oil crisis

According to Fisher, a former international reporter and columnist for The New York Times, China's transition to clean energy has helped reduce its dependence on oil and build a more resilient energy system.

As geopolitical tensions disrupted oil supplies and raised fears of a global energy shock, China's lower demand for crude helped ease pressure on the already tight global market.

Reuters reported that China had cut its crude oil imports by about 400 million barrels compared with the previous year since the conflict began.

Fisher noted that China's growing use of electric vehicles and its broader shift toward cleaner energy have changed the country's oil consumption patterns.

This means that even amid disruptions to global oil supplies, China was less reliant on additional crude imports than it might have been in the past.
