When a Gen Z Chinese musician met jazz legend Johnny O'Neal
Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, young traditional Chinese musician Zhou Yiming met American jazz legend Johnny O'Neal for the first time.
They had never played together before, but within moments, the music took over.
As "Fly Me to the Moon" began to play, what followed was a spontaneous exchange between the two musicians from different generations and musical traditions, all captured by CGTN's Ali and Zhang Biyun at Bluenote Beijing.
No common language needed – sometimes, all it takes is a melody.
