Wang Yi said China-Uzbekistan relations achieve leapfrog development
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-Uzbekistan relations have achieved leapfrog development.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks on Wednesday when meeting with the Head of the Uzbek Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva in Beijing.
Wang added that China has always been a sincere and trustworthy partner for Uzbekistan, and will continue to support Uzbekistan in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security, and development interests.
He said China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to accelerate the construction of landmark projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, investment, energy, mining and other areas.
Mirziyoyeva responded that her country appreciates China for its valuable help in Uzbekistan's development and is willing to further learn from China's experience in governance, particularly in poverty alleviation.
She said Uzbekistan is also willing to work with China to promote the growth and development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
