CSRC holds expert forum on capital market and financial landscape

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) held a symposium in Beijing on October 10, bringing together executives from some listed companies and experts from securities and fund institutions to exchange views on the current capital market and financial landscape.

The meeting was chaired by CSRC Chairman Wu Qing, who solicited opinions and suggestions from the participants.

The participants agreed that China's macro economy has maintained steady growth with positive momentum, while industrial transformation and upgrading continue to advance.

They noted that the capital market has operated in a generally stable manner, with the multi-tiered market system playing an effective role.

Despite facing risks and challenges, they expressed confidence that the momentum of high-quality development remains unchanged and voiced confidence in both China's economic outlook and the capital market.

Experts at the symposium put forward specific suggestions to further promote the stable and healthy development of the capital market.

Key recommendations include: Continuing to strengthen market stabilization mechanisms, expanding the sources, channels and entry pathways for medium- and long-term funds, and fostering the growth of patient capital; Encouraging qualified listed companies to increase dividend payouts and share buybacks, while improving mechanisms for investor returns and rights protection; Optimizing IPO and listing rules to support the growth of high-quality companies across different sectors, industries and ownership types; Strengthening trading oversight and enhancing cross-border risk monitoring and response capabilities; Researching and preparing additional policy tools.

The CSRC chairman said listed companies and industry institutions are important participants in the capital market.

He encouraged them to actively contribute suggestions, work together to further develop the capital market, better serve investors, and contribute to advancing Chinese modernization.
