Arabic version of "Classic Quotes Cited by Xi Jinping" launches

The Arabic-language edition of China Media Group's program Classic Quotes Cited by Xi Jinping was officially launched in Cairo on September 1 local time, coinciding with Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Egypt and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi sent a congratulatory message for the launch.

In his message, President El-Sisi said that over the past decade, he and President Xi Jinping have worked together to strengthen and deepen Egypt-China friendship, elevating bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

He noted that cultural programs featuring interpretations of Chinese classics can help build bridges of communication between young people in Egypt and China.

Shen Haixiong, President of China Media Group, said in his remarks that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with China 70 years ago.

He said the Arabic edition of the program offers international audiences a window into President Xi's political wisdom, philosophical outlook and humanistic vision, while helping them better understand Chinese culture, wisdom, and the spirit of contemporary China.

The program features classical Chinese quotes cited by President Xi in his speeches, articles and conversations, exploring themes including economic development, technological innovation, ecological conservation and people's well-being.

Through these stories, it highlights the enduring cultural heritage of China and explores the contemporary significance and global relevance of the values rooted in Chinese civilization.

The Arabic edition is now being broadcast on leading Egyptian media outlets, as well as major African media platforms.

More than 100 guests, including prominent figures from political, economic, cultural and media circles in both China and Egypt, attended the event.
