Stock split alert! 3 stocks turning ex-record date for stock splits next week. Do you own any?

As many as three companies have fixed their record dates for their stock splits next week. While the number of outstanding shares increases during a stock split, the company’s overall market capitalisation remains unchanged. A lower share price can make the stock more accessible to retail investors, potentially improving participation and trading volumes.

As per Sebi's T+1 settlement norm, investors need to buy a company's shares at least one trading day before the record date to ensure the shares are credited to their demat accounts in time, and they become eligible for the corporate action. Accordingly, a day before the record date would likely be the last opportunity for investors to buy the shares so that they are credited to their accounts on time, making them eligible for the stock split.

Mukul Agrawal-backed Taal Tech has announced a 1:5 stock split, with the record date being fixed on September 22 (Tuesday). This would effectively make Monday the last day for interested investors to add the engineering services company’s shares to their portfolios to be eligible for the corporate action. A 1:5 stock split means that every share held on the record date would be split into five shares, while the total value remains the same. The ace investor held around 9% stake in the company worth more than Rs 151 crore at the end of the April-June quarter of FY27, according to data on Trendlyne. The shares of the company have jumped 81% in 2026 so far and 29% in a month.

Midwest Energy, which is engaged in mineral exploration, mining, mineral processing, sales, and global distribution of natural stone products, has announced September 25 (Friday) as the record date for its 1:10 stock split. If an investor held 10 shares of the company worth Rs 10 each, she will own 100 shares worth Rs 1 each after the stock split, while the total value of her stock holding remains unchanged at Rs 100. The shares of the company have fallen over 25% in 2026 so far, but gained around 52% in one year.

Naturite Agro Products, which specialised in specialty agri-based ingredients—spice oils and oleoresins, has announced a 1:2 stock split and fixed September 25 (Friday) as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for the corporate action. If an investor held 10 shares of the company worth Rs 10 each, she will own 20 shares worth Rs 5 each after the stock split, while the total value of her stock holding remains unchanged at Rs 100. The shares of the company have fallen around 31% in 2026 so far and nearly 50% in one year.
