The Anantapur police held a coordination meeting with Ganesh festival organisers and committee members here on Saturday.
Anantapur Superintendent of Police (SP) P. Jagadeesh stressed on importance of mandatory permissions, installation of CCTV cameras at major pandals, electrical and fire safety, trained volunteers, traffic management, noise restrictions, and designated routes and timings for processions and immersion.
Meanwhile, Sri Sathya Sai district SP S. Sateesh Kumar conducted an awareness meeting with Ganesh idol organisers in Puttaparthi and Mudigubba mandals.
He focused on keeping roads clear for emergency vehicles, ensuring electrical and fire safety, managing crowds, monitoring CCTVs, protecting women, children, and senior citizens, complying with DJ and noise restrictions, ensuring safe transportation of idols, and preventing drunkenness, dangerous objects, and provocative songs or slogans during processions.
In Annamayya district, SP Dheeraj Kunubilli announced that the weekly public grievance programme at the SP office in Madanapalle would be cancelled on September 14 because of public holiday on Vinayaka Chaturthi. He urged the festive organisers to adhere to the rules and regulations fixed by the district police.
