The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Deputy Controller of Accounts, working as Independent Financial Advisor in the Information & Broadcasting Ministry, in an alleged bribery case.
The accused has been identified as Sandeep Choudhary, against whom the CBI registered a case on August 18 following a complaint alleging that he had demanded ₹15 lakh for the expeditious renewal of a contract.
“After negotiation, the accused agreed to accept a bribe of ₹10 lakh from the complainant to expeditiously process the renewal file for the private company’s contract, which was pending before him,” said the agency.
