Amadalavalasa MLA Kuna Ravikumar on Friday requested the State government to issue orders for the posting of 1,391 jail warders in their native districts or local zones as per the guidelines of the Presidential Order with regard to postings of staff.
Mr. Ravikumar said that the government had posted all jail warders in far away districts with the introduction of multi-zone rule which is causing mental agony to the warders as well as their family members.
Mr. Ravikumar stated in a release that he had raised the issue in the Assembly and requested Minister for Home Vangalapudi Anitha to resolve the grievance of the jail warders.
In another press note, representatives of the Andhra Pradesh Jails Employees’ Association said that jail warders were unable to meet their families once in three months due to their duties in far away districts.
They said that ordinary employees had to be posted in native districts as well as in their zones and it was painful to implement multi zone rule only for jail warders in the State.
“Jail warders of North Andhra region were posted in Chittoor, Kadapa, Nellore and other places. It is very difficult for them to lead life with meagre salaries in other district. The family members of the warders planned to meet Ministers for the permanent solution for the problems being faced by the jail warders in the State.” said a representative of the association.
