Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 122.45 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 1,606 cusecs and a discharge of 800 cusecs. The level in Vaigai dam was 37.20 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 430 cusecs and a discharge of 86 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 3,795.34 mcft. Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Thursday was (in mm): Mullaperiyar dam 21.4, Thekkadi 5.8, Gudalur 4.8, Kodaikanal 4.2, Shanmuganadhi dam 2.4 and Uthamapalayam 1.2.
