“An appropriate decision regarding the revision of school timings in Bengaluru city, in light of traffic congestion, will be taken after consulting various departments,” said Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa.

“The Private Schools Association has requested a change in school timings due to traffic congestion in Bengaluru. A decision on this matter will be taken soon,” he said.

He was speaking at an event at the St. Philomena’s Institution in Attibele on Saturday.

He noted that there is a demand to consider teachers serving in private schools for State-level teacher’s award, a matter currently under consideration by the government. A decision regarding this would be taken after consultations, he said.

A Cabinet sub-committee, led by Legislative Council Member (MLC) Puttanna, has made recommendations regarding the renewal of recognition (RR) for private schools and the extension of the House Rent Allowance (HRA) currently provided to government employees in Bengaluru city to teachers in government and aided schools in Bengaluru Rural district.
