AI Leaders Reach Consensus: Amodei, Altman, Musk, and Hassabis on Extinction Risks

Anthropic's CEO, Dario Amodei, has reignited an important conversation about the risks posed by the fast-paced development of frontier AI models.

He said, “Like many technologies before it, AI brings risks, and because it is such a powerful technology, these risks are serious.” Amodei further says, “We must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models.

Progress will still seem fast, and we must make wise use of the time we gain.” Anthropic’s CEO has a three-part plan for AI frontier firms.

The proposed plan is claimed to ensure safety, allowing the companies to tread carefully.
