Sales bookings of listed realty firms drop 21% amid fewer project launches
India's 28 big listed real estate firms' collective sales bookings fell 21 per cent to nearly Rs 40,000 crore in the latest June quarter due to lower volumes, as some big developers refrained from launching housing projects amid global economic uncertainties.
According to data compiled from investor presentations, total combined sales bookings, or pre-sales, of the 28 major listed real estate companies stood at Rs 39,964 crore in the first quarter of 2026-27 compared to Rs 50,900 crore in the year-ago period.
The housing segment contributed the bulk of the sales booking numbers.
Godrej Properties became the largest listed real estate developer in terms of sales bookings.
The company sold properties worth Rs 8,651 crore in the June quarter against Rs 7,082 crore in the year-ago period.
Out of 28, 19 developers have reported growth in pre-sales.
