Students’ Federation of India (SFI) All India joint secretary Aishe Ghosh on Wednesday alleged that the country was witnessing a situation in which the Sangh Parivar and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were trying to capture educational institutions.
“When they are trying to capture institutions, we know that they had no role in the democratic process of building this country,” she alleged in her address at the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), Kalady, as part of the indefinite strike by the SFI to press its various demands. She said the only thing that the Sangh Parivar and the RSS could do was capture educational institutions that were built long ago.
She accused the SSUS Vice-Chancellor of having the mindset of the RSS and the Sangh Parivar by not tolerating dissent and not holding a dialogue with the agitating students. This is the kind of audacity that the RSS and the Sangh Parivar have, she said.
She urged Minister for Higher Education Roji M. John to ask the Vice-Chancellor to hold discussions with the students. On the student protest at Jantar Mantar, Ms. Ghosh said it had given “all of us a hope that we will win, if we are united.”
