BlueBinaries aim to scale the combined business to $100 million in the coming years

Chennai-based mobility engineering company BlueBinaries has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the automotive testing business of Germany-based software and systems provider MicroNova AG, marking a major step in its global expansion strategy.

Following the acquisition, the carved-out business will operate as a separate entity within the BlueBinaries group under the name NovaBinaries GmbH. The new company is expected to generate annual revenue of around $50 million, with BlueBinaries aiming to scale the combined business to $100 million in the coming years.

The acquisition will bring MicroNova’s advanced automotive testing capabilities—including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems, test automation, virtual validation and software test factories—under the BlueBinaries umbrella.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Chennai, BlueBinaries provides engineering and technology services to the global mobility sector, with operations spanning India, Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

MicroNova, headquartered near Munich, has nearly three decades of experience in automotive testing and validation technologies. Its portfolio includes HiL systems and the EXAM test automation platform, widely used in large-scale automotive testing environments. The company employs around 280 professionals.

BlueBinaries said NovaBinaries will combine MicroNova’s established testing platforms and automotive expertise with its own global engineering capabilities and customer network, creating an integrated technology partner for the evolving mobility ecosystem.

Calling the deal a significant milestone, Srinivas Aravapalli, Founder and CEO of BlueBinaries, said the acquisition would accelerate the company’s ambition to achieve technological leadership in the global mobility sector.

Kishore LM, Founder and COO of BlueBinaries, said “the acquisition…enhances our ability to offer right technology solutions across automotive software testing. MicroNova’s technical depth, customer centricity, and regional strength align perfectly with our strategic vision to be the first partner choice for global customers complimenting our current portfolio.”
