Upalokayukta makes surprise visit to Town Municipal Council office in Belagavi district

Upalokayukta B. Veerappa paid a surprise visit to the Town Municipal Council office at Chikkodi in Belagavi district on Thursday.
He visited various sections of the municipality office including birth and death records, e-Sathu, e-Khata, and B-Khata and others. He inspected staff attendance registers and some official files. He sought details regarding building construction permits, waste disposal vehicles, street light maintenance and associated costs, and approvals granted for new residential layouts.
Mr. Veerappa instructed the Chief Officer to provide salary details of the staff for the past two years. He informed the public that they could directly lodge complaints with the Lokayukta office, regarding public issues like encroachments, illegal building constructions, etc.
Officials of the Lokayukta, district administration and the Town Municipal Council were present.
