No one can destroy the two Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu and the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) will soon disappear, said the AIADMK’s deputy general secretary K.P. Munusamy in Dharmapuri on Wednesday (October 21, 2026).
He was speaking on the sidelines of a party event that saw the induction of cadre from the AMMK back into the AIADMK. Mr. Munusamy slammed TVK Minister Aadhav Arjuna’s comments on the AIADMK’s political longevity. “Mr. Arjuna, who had been party-hopping till he settled at the TVK, is now acting as the Shadow Chief Minister,” he alleged.
On the AIADMK’s by-election losses, Mr. Munusamy asked why no questions were posed to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi despite repeated electoral defeats. Mr. Munusamy questioned Mr. Arjuna’s right to mock the AIADMK—a party that has survived for over 31 years.
He also called out the TVK government, led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, for failing to announce universal loan waiver for farmers. “The party came to power on this promise to the farmers and has now reneged on the same,” Mr. Munusamy added.
