A 45-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his wife, minor son and her accomplice in Salem on Tuesday.

According to the police, Bhupathi, a resident of SK Nagar on Omalur-Sankari Road, was into brick business. He was married to Sujitha Sri (31) and the couple has a 13-year-old son.

On Tuesday morning, Sujitha Sri informed Omalur police that while her family was travelling to a temple in the early hours of Tuesday by car, a gang fatally attacked her husband near Attukaranur and robbed her of her jewellery. The police sent the body to Omalur Government Hospital for postmortem.

The police, who went to the deceased's house for inquiry, found blood drops there. On suspicion, they inquired Sujitha Sri.

During inquiry, Sujitha Sri revealed that she was in a relationship with Santhosh Raj (33) of the same locality. She alleged that with the help of Santhosh Raj and her minor son, she allegedly killed her husband in the house. They then took the body in a car and informed the police. Further investigations are under way. The accused will be remanded on Wednesday, the sources added.
