The Keralam Labour department has decided to grant a 20% bonus alongside an Onam advance of ₹10,000 to the employees of Rehabilitation Plantations Limited (RPL) for the 2025–26 financial year. The decision was finalised during a high-level meeting chaired by Labour Minister Bindhu Krishna on Wednesday (August 19, 2026). To facilitate the payment of the bonus and associated employee benefits, RPL will raise a loan of ₹15 lakh.

During the meeting, Ms. Krishna assured workers that she will visit RPL in the second week of September. She added that other outstanding grievances and issues raised by the workforce would be addressed directly and resolved during her visit. The discussion held in the Minister’s chamber was attended by key officials and leaders, including Punalur MLA Ajayaprasad, special secretary Sheeba George, and Labour Commissioner Safna Nasaruddin.
