France Backs Stablecoin Tax Plan and 10-Year Window for Crypto Loss Relief

France’s National Assembly Finance Committee has approved two amendments to the proposed 2027 budget that would change how cryptocurrency transactions are taxed.

One proposal would make conversions into qualifying stablecoins taxable from January 1, 2027, while another would let eligible crypto losses be carried forward for 10 years.

Both measures must clear further legislative review before they can become law.
