Liquor sales curbed in Hayyal (B) village till Monday

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandve, who is also the District Magistrate, has passed an order prohibiting liquor sales till 6 a.m. on Monday in Hayyal (B) village and the areas surrounding the Sri Hayyalalingeshwar temple in Wadagera taluk in view of the annual fair of the temple.

​Exercising powers conferred on him under Section 21 of the Karnataka Excise Act 1965, the District Magistrate has ordered temporary closure of all retail and wholesale liquor shops, wine shops and bars situated within a 5-km radius of Hayyal (B) village to ensure law and order during the festival.
