An RDO enquiry has been ordered into a complaint of death of a 55-year-old man of Mela Anupanadi Paramasivam at a private hospital due to “police excess” on Sunday.
The police said that the man was admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital on August 5 under a non-medico-legal case and later he got discharged against medical advice two days later.
Meanwhile, his family members have complained that only because of excess action by police personnel of Chintamani station over a petty quarrel reported on July 17, he has died.
Keeraithurai police have registered a case of suspicious death and RDO Melur started an enquiry.
