A 32-year-old man was killed by his wife following a domestic dispute at Kodali village in Kalagi taluk of Kalaburagi district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Nagendra Kashappa Mudhol, a native of Yaddalli village in Sedam taluk.

The Ratkal Police have registered a murder case against his wife Sudharani Nagendra Mudhol.

According to police sources, Nagendra was an alcohol addict and frequently picked up quarrels with family members.

On Sunday, a dispute erupted between the couple during which Nagendra threatened to kill their two children, aged six and eight.

As the argument escalated, Sudharani, in a fit of rage, attacked Nagendra with an axe. Nagendra sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, the Ratkal Police registered a case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). They have initiated investigation.
