Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta on Friday (August 28, 2026) laid the foundation stone for construction of Vihara (men’s transit accommodation), Vihari (women’s transit accommodation) and Central Police Canteen at APSP 6th Battalion at Mangalagiri.

Vihara and Vihari will provide accommodation to 120 men and 120 women police personnel, who visit the AP Police Headquarters. The Integrated Central Police Canteen is intended to provide better canteen facilities to the police, the DGP said.

Mr. Harish Kumar Gupta said the welfare and well-being of police personnel remains a top priority for the Andhra Pradesh Police.

Director General of Police (Law & Order) N. Madhusudhan Reddy, IGP (P&L) M. Ravi Prakash, IGP (Women Protection Wing) B. Rajakumari, IGP (Technical Services and Operations) Ch. Srikanth, IGP (Sports and Welfare) K.V. Mohan Rao, DIGs Anburajan, R.N. Ammireddy and other officers participated.
