RWA Deposits Rise Sharply on DeFi Platforms Despite 15% Drop in Overall DeFi Deposits

Real-world asset deposits across decentralised lending and trading platforms reached $7.4 billion in the second quarter of 2026, more than triple the level recorded a year earlier, according to CoinShares.

The increase came as overall DeFi deposits declined 15 percent year-on-year, while spot trading of tokenised assets rose 220 percent despite a 70 percent fall in broader decentralised exchange volumes.
