SBI Reports Suspected Data Exposure Affecting 3,897 Customer Records
SBI received alerts about the suspected exposure on October 16 from its Threat Intelligence Service Provider, the Defence Cyber Agency and CERT-In.
Its preliminary review covered around 375,000 records available on the dark web, of which 3,897 contained personally identifiable information.
The exposed details reportedly included names, contact information, residential addresses and identifiers linked to branches and loan records.
SBI activated its cyber incident response procedures and appointed an independent CERT-In-empanelled agency to investigate the incident and assess potential risks.
