In connection with the birth anniversary of renowned poet Ayyappa Paniker, the Ayyappa Paniker Foundation is organising a reel and video clip competition titled ‘Kavya Drishyam’, based on his poems.
Moving away from traditional poetry recitations, the competition aims to visualise poetic imagination against the backdrop of the digital age with the help of technology. The contest will accept entries shot on cameras or mobile phones, as well as those created using AI and animation technologies.
The competition is open to students and young professionals aged between 15 and 30 years. Participants can compete either individually or in small teams of up to four members. The poetry recitation and dialogues must be entirely in Malayalam. Additionally, the video must be created in a format suitable for Instagram reels, with a maximum duration of 180 seconds (3 minutes).
The best creations will be awarded cash prizes and certificates of merit. The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of ₹5,000, while the second and third-place winners will take home ₹2,000 and ₹1,000, respectively. Furthermore, all eligible contestants will be awarded digital certificates.
Those interested in participating must register via the link (https://forms.gle/CjPRJCccLhbgbW5U6) by September 22. For details, the public can reach out to the organisers via email at [email protected] or phone: 9495854840.
