New industrial parks to spur MSME growth, Minister tells T.N. Assembly

Tamil Nadu’s MSME Minister P. Mathan Raja said that new industrial parks focused on supporting women would come up across the state. “New women industrial parks will be set up at Sankaraperi (Thoothukudi) in 10 acres at ₹3.70 crore, Narasinganallur (Tirunelveli) in 15 acres at ₹47.13 crore, and Palaiyapatti SIPCOT Industrial Estate (Thanjavur) in 10 acres at ₹8.00 crore,” he said.

The Minister also said that a new comprehensive MSME policy will be formulated focusing on encouraging investments and entrepreneurship, technology upgrading, Industry 4.0 adoption, automation, and Artificial Intelligence.

Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) will establish five new industrial estates across Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram districts, covering 234.38 acres at a total project cost of ₹171.39 crore. The estates will come up at Naidukuppam, Kannankottai, Thervoykandigai, Erumaiyur and Varadharajapuram. The permitted time for allottees in SIDCO industrial estates to utilise the allotted plots and establish industrial units will be extended from two years to three years from the date of allotment.

New industrial estate will be established by SIDCO on 26.85 acres of government land in Kattrampakkam Village, Vanur Taluk, Viluppuram at a cost of ₹20.60 crore. SIDCO will establish two new industrial estates on TANSI lands at Konam (Kanyakumari ) and Mettur (Salem).To boost industrialisation in the industrially backward districts of Perambalur and Mayiladuthurai, suitable land will be identified to establish new SIDCO industrial estates. A new ‘Coconut Industrial Estate’ for coconut based MSMEs will be established on 3.18 acre of TANSI land in Pollachi, Coimbatore at a project cost of ₹11.50 crore. A new Medical Technology Park will be established by SIDCO over 5.00 acre at Suriyur Village, Thiruverumbur Taluk, Tiruchirappalli at a project cost of ₹2.06 crore.
