Cadres of the Telangana Rakshana Sena on Tuesday staged a dharna at the dumping yard near the bypass road in Karimnagar, demanding its immediate relocation away from the town.
The protesters squatted on the road leading to the dumping yard alleging government apathy towards the pressing public health issue. The dharna was led by party’s district in-charge G. Hariprasad.
Addressing the dharna, the Telangana Rakshana Sena leaders demanded the government to shift the dumping yard without further delay and clear the heaps of garbage accumulated at the site through biomining. They also demanded the adoption of scientific waste management practices to improve sanitation and safeguard public health within the limits of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation.
