Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) corporator Bipin Jain shaved half his head on Wednesday in protest against the party’s decision to deny him a B-form to contest the civic elections in Visakhapatnam.
As part of the protest, Mr. Jain rode his motorcycle through the lanes of One Town and distributed chocolates to people, drawing the attention of residents and passers-by. His protest was aimed at expressing his displeasure over the party’s decision not to nominate him as its candidate in the ensuing elections.
Mr. Jain previously served as the corporator of Ward 31 in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC). During his tenure in the council, he was known for staging innovative forms of protest to draw people’s attention.
