Sivaganga police arrested a youth in connection with the murder of a farmer near Madagupatti here on Wednesday.
Police said, Narayanan, 70, was a farmer residing at Keelappoongudi near Madagupatti in Sivaganga district. His wife Sivapathy passed away a few years ago, and his sons were married and living separately.
Consequently, Narayanan was living alone. On September 10, Narayanan was found murdered near his house. The Madhagupatti police registered a case and investigated the matter.
In this connection, the police arrested Balamurugan alias Kaleeswaran, 19, a resident of Pasumpon Nagar, Sakkarakkottai, in Ramanathapuram district. Authorities are searching for others involved in this case.
