Police registered a case against two persons on the charge of murder in Vijayapura district of Karnataka.
The body of Siddappa Anjutagi, 62, a retired teacher from Chavadihal was found wrapped in a bed sheet near Indi town on August 16.
Based on a complaint by Nikita, daughter of the deceased, police began an investigation. She accused her elder sister Priyanka, 30, and her alleged paramour Bhimaji Shindhe of being responsible for the murder.
Priyanka is a widow. Siddappa Anjutagi had allegedly objected to his widowed daughter's relationship with Bhimaji. Priyanka was also upset that her father didn't support her financially. Priyanka and Bhimaji, with the support of another associate, plotted the murder, Nikita alleged in her complaint.
