Odisha govt. agrees to procure paddy from A.P. farmers in State

Rajamahendravaram MP D. Purandeswari on Saturday announced that the Odisha government has agreed to procure paddy from Andhra Pradesh farmers cultivating crops in Odisha, benefitting 50,000 farmers across the State.

Recently, the Andhra Pradesh farmers sought Ms. Purandeswari held talks with the Odisha government for the procurement of paddy grown by them in Odisha State.

“Odisha Civil Supplies Minister Krishna Chandra Patro and Odisha Agriculture Minister Kanakvardhan Singh Deo have been appraised and requested to procure paddy from Andhra Pradesh farmers who grow the crop in Odisha. They have consented to our appeal,” the MP said.

Ms. Purandeswari has thanked the Odisha State government for the initiative that benefits the farmers of Andhra Pradesh.
