The CPI(M) on Saturday announced that its State Committee will finalise the party’s stance on the upcoming byelections for the Maduranthakam and Dharapuram constituencies.

The party’s State Executive Committee meeting was held online today. Addressing reporters after the meeting, State secretary P. Shanmugam said extensive discussions took place regarding the political approach to adopt for the byelections. Since this is a major political decision, the executive committee resolved to convene the State Committee and finalise the stance with its approval.

“Therefore, the CPI(M) State Committee meeting will be held tomorrow (Sunday) at 10.30 a.m. in Tiruchi. In that meeting, the State Committee will decide the Marxist Communist party’s stance regarding the byelections,” Mr. Shanmugam added.
