Bigger than Paris Olympics: Asian Games kicks off with 11K athletes, 43 sports & some unique games

The Asian Games have kicked off in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, welcoming more than 11,000 athletes ready to compete in 43 different sports, ranging from Olympic sports to local favourites.

To manage costs, athletes are being housed in hotels, containers, and even a cruise ship.

Despite some logistical hurdles regarding accommodations and transport, the Games promise to showcase a vibrant display of Asian culture and athletic prowess until October 4.
