A Muslim Students Federation (MSF) student leader was allegedly assaulted by a group of men who arrived in an SUV and attacked him in Chavakkad in the early hours on Saturday (September 12, 2026).
The victim, Shanauf Sharafudheen, 21, a resident of Anchangadi in Kadappuram, was walking along the road near the Palayur Church around 12.30 a.m. when the incident occurred.
According to Mr. Sharafudheen, the group intercepted him and repeatedly beat him after forcing him to the ground. They allegedly tried to forcibly drag him into their SUV. He said the assailants seemed intoxicated and attempted to run him over, but he escaped. The attackers also allegedly took away his mobile phone.
