A mediation awareness and outreach programme was conducted on the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court campus, on Friday.
The programme was held in connection with ‘Mediation for the Nation 3.0’. The programme was inaugurated by the Administrative Judge of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court Justice C.V. Karthikeyan in the presence of other High Court judges and advocates.
The judges spoke about the importance of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and mediation. They distributed pamphlets to the litigants and the public to raise awareness of mediation. Judges, advocates, court staff and others participated in the programme.
As part of the programme, an awareness and outreach programme was also conducted for law students at the Alternative Dispute Resolution building on the High Court campus.
‘Mediation for the Nation 3.0’ is a nationwide special mediation drive launched by the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee of the Supreme Court of India to settle pending cases through mediation.
