Andhra Pradesh BJP president P.V.N. Madhav has appealed to people to light lamps outside their homes at 7 p.m. on September 17 as part of the party’s ‘Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan’ marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service.
Addressing the media in Vijayawada on Sunday, Mr. Madhav said the month-long campaign aims to highlight Mr. Modi’s public service and development initiatives during his 13-year tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and subsequent tenure as Prime Minister.
He appealed to the people to light an “ashirvada deepam” and pray for Mr. Modi’s health, longevity and continued strength.
Mr. Madhav said Mr. Modi had dedicated his life to the service of the country and society, and worked with the objective of improving the lives of millions of people. He called upon the party cadre to involve people in the lamp-lighting programme and ensure its successful conduct.
The State BJP president also asked the party workers to take the Prime Minister’s development and public service initiatives to the people. He also urged them to work with the spirit of “service, dedication and resolve,” and strengthen their connect with the public.
